12 Year Anniversary: Boston Trip Part 3

Okay this is the final chapter of our Boston Trip. Day 3 was not packed, but more restful.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO US!!

This is our actual anniversary day, 8/2/15.

We attended church with Joe and Katie. After 12 years of being in a family ward, it was different to be in a singles ward. Very quite.

Just before we got to church Matt and I drove by Walden Pond. I was surprised by how big it actually was.

12 Year Anniversary: Boston Trip Part 2

Okay onto day 2! This is now Saturday, 8/1/15.

This was also an adventure packed day. We first started out with a yummy breakfast. Joe had recommended this diner called Bickford in a neighboring town.

My breakfast, omelet.

Matt's, The Big Apple
I went simple with an omelet, but no Matt had to get an item that took 20 mins to cook. He picked what's called The Big Apple. Basically, what it is a baked pancake with apples, cinnamon and sugar. As you can see that is all he could eat. He did have potatoes brought out before this. We took it back with us to have for breakfast the next day.

12 Year Anniversary: Boston Trip Part 1

This year Matt and I celebrate 12 years of being married! I can't believe it! 12 YEARS!! This year we were able to afford a trip by ourselves! This was also the first time we have made a trip without kids. Yea us!

Well anyways, Matt was already in Connecticut for training for his new job. He had been out there the week prior, and his training ended a few days before our anniversary. So I thought that it would be fun to meet him out there so that I can experience Boston.

*sidenote: Matt has been to Boston a few times already. Also if you follow my on Instagram you probably have seen these pictures but now I'm dishing the details of the trip*

I made all the arrangements for the kids to be watched by their grandparents. They had fun while we were gone too. ;)

I took a redeye non-stop flight on Thursday, 8/29/15, and arrived in Boston early Friday morning. I tried to sleep on the plane, but the flight attendant didn't hear me ask for a blanket only a pillow. I had a window seat and 2 ladies next to me were knocked out and I didn't want to walk them up by binging for the flight attendant. So I tried to sleep I would wake up cold. errr. I have to be warm to fall asleep.

10 Years!! Our Story thus Far

I can't believe that 10 years ago I married one of the cutest guys in my singles ward. Our story actually starts 11 years ago when we first met.

I was the new girl to him in the group that I was in and he was just fresh off of his mission and new to me. I actually persued him and it most definetly paid off. It didn't take much and we were dating. By April of 2003 we were engaged with the help of my bestie and a video camera.

a month of dating and i took him home to cali for my baby brother's blessing. Sept 2002.

8 Years!

Matt and I celebrated our anniversay a few days early this year because he was going to be out of town on business the day of our anniversary. I can't believe that we have been married for 8 years now! Where has the time gone? It hasn't been an easy 8 years that's for sure. We've been through a lot of ups and downs but I know that we have grown from the experiences.

This year we celebrated by having dinner at Pizzeria Bianco in downtown Phoenix. We tried to do it a couple years back but didn't realize that it was a popular restuarant and the line was like 2 hours long, no thank you! So this year we decided to go earlier. I got off of work early and we headed to downtown and walked right on in. It's not a very large restuarant which is why the line to get in ends up being 2 hours. The food was okay, if you have been to Grimaldi's it is very similar, so we tried it but don't think that we will be going back.

After dinner we headed to the Chandler Mall b/c I had received a gift certificate from Helzberg Diamond for a free pair of pink pearl earrings. Score! Who doesn't love free jewelry?!

{My pretty pearl earrings.}

After I got my free pair of earrings we headed to San Tan Village to try to catch an early showing of Captain America, but before we went to the theater we hit up Pandora. :) I got a new charm for my bracelet that I had gotten for my bday.

{Charm for Anniversary}

This time I got to pick which charm I wanted. I love it! Once we had made our purchase it was on to the movie. We ran into some friends and chatted, then I looked up at the time listing and it said that the 6:20 showing of Captain America was sold out!! What? We were a little bit disappointed so we looked online, using my phone, to see when the next showing around the area would be, b/c the next one at San Tan was like at 8 or something close it. We found a 7:15 showing at Gilbert Stadium and made our over there.

It was a really good movie! We really enjoyed it, and are excited about the new movie featuring the comic book heros that have come out in the last couple of years. If you haven't seen it I highly recommend it and stay through the credits b/c there is a teaser of the new movie that will be coming out soon.

Happy Anniversary to us!!

7th Anniversary

On Saturday night Matt and I had a date night to celebrate our 7 year anniversary, which was monday the 2nd. I can't believe that we have been married for that long! Anyway, so to start out our night we went to Benihana, for those of you who don't know it's a Japanese cuisine restuarant. They make your food at your table. We had a fun chef who was constantly cracking jokes as he was making our dinner.

This was part of our dinner before it was cooked.

The veggies that come with all the meals.

Matt had lobster and filet mignon. That's the lobster just after it was cooked.

I had shrimp and teriyaki beef. Very tasty!!

When we had arrived to put our name down for a table they asked us if we were celebrating anything and we said our anniversary. So after our meal the took our picture.

After dinner we headed over to the movie theater to catch the latest movie that everyone has been raving about, Inception.

This was an AWESOME movie! Great concept and fantastic effects! Unfortunately Matt didn't watch it straight through. He was soo tired from his trip from Boston that he was tuckered out and fell asleep!

6 Years and Counting

Today is our 6 year anniversary.

It hasn't been the easiest 6 years but I know that we have definitely have grown from where we started at. We have a fun little boy that we love dearly and wouldn't trade him for the world.

We have had our ups and downs just like any married couple and the Lord has tried us again and again.

On Friday I asked Matt if he remembered that today was our anniversary and his reaction was no and then dissappoinment b/c he had forgotten. I didn't get upset b/c I knew that was probably the furthest thing from his mind given our current situation. We don't have a lot of funds right now so I was not expecting anything. We've done things in the past and this is the first year that we didn't. I'm not worried, b/c there is always next year.

Happy Anniversary to Us

Yesterday Matt and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary. I can't believe that it's been 5 years! Time sure does fly. Last night we celebrate by going out to dinner, nothing fancy, just enjoying each other's company. We wanted to try a new pizza place in downtown Phoenix called Pizzeria Bianco. Matt read that this was rate one of the tope 5 pizza places in the nation. So we get there at opening time, 5pm, and there is a line outside. So we get in line and the hostess said that there was a 3 1/2 hour wait. 3 1/2 hours!!! I couldn't believe it, b/c we got there at opening time.

So we decided that we didn't want to wait the 3 1/2 hours to eat, so we went to Bobby Q. This restaurant is off the I-17 and Dunlap. We get there and were seated right away. Just the way I like it. Matt was telling me as were driving there that they have the best cornbread that he has ever tasted. I have to agree it was really good cornbread. I had the grilled shrimp w/ chimichuri pesto w/ mashed potatoes and grilled veggies. Very delicious! Matt had the prim rib w/ mashed potatoes and sweet corn. Within 10 mins of ordering we had our dinner, talk about fast service. I also order the peach cobbler to go.

We came home and took Scott, my brother Chris and his wife Carree out for Nielson frozen custard. They were babysitting Scott for us. We had fun hanging out with them and talking about just about anything.

I love being married to Matt, he is a wonderful husband and father. He may forget to do things b/c he is busy trying to finish school. He is not a romantic but when does surprise me it means a lot. So Happy Anniversary to Us!
