Summer - 1 year Photo Shoot

I can't believe Summer is already a year! She is that happiest baby ever! She loves to make funny noises and faces. She loves her big brother and her daddy. She can say daddy very well and is learning to say Scott, but it sounds like dot. Other words she can say are baby, pretty, hey, hi and uh-oh. She loves her baby doll that her grammy got her for her birthday. She is a petite but growing and is on track with her milestones. This week she figured out how to walk and is doing very well with it.

Ok, onto the photo bomb of her 1 year photo session. Thanks to my friend Amanda I love how the pictures turned out. Here are a few that I want to share.

Memorial Day Weekend Vacation

Ah summertime is finally here and school is out, that means Memorial weekend and Scott's birthday. This year we asked Scott what he wanted to do for his birthday. We gave him the option of going to Sea World and visting his cousins in San Diego or take a couple of friends to Sunsplash. He chose the first option.

We left Friday morning. Summer did very well, I was worried that she would get bored and fussy but she slept most of the way. Thank goodness for the improvement of baby food packaging! I love the food pouches, because I could screw on a spoon designed for them and feed her on the road! We hit traffic on our way into Carlsbad but made in just in time to check into our hotel. Matt's sister met up with us at our hotel, she lives up the road from the hotel we stayed at. I do recommend the Carlsbad by The Sea Resort, if you are planning a vaca to Carlsbad. So the kids swam for a little bit and then we headed to dinner.

Family Pictures

On April 27th, we had new family pictures taken. This was combo session, family, maternity and baptism for Scott. I had been looking around for a photographer that would fit our budget that had an opening. I have friends that are photographers but wanted to go with someone different. I loved how these pictures turned out! I have created a slideshow of some of my favorites for you to view.

Happy Birthday to US!

As many of you know Matt and I are a year apart and our birthdays are 2 days, with Matt's being on the 18th and mine on the 20th. We have always celebrated our birthdays together. This year was no different. On Saturday it was Matt's birthday and he turned the BIG 30! I can't believe it!

So for his birthday I made him some yummy peanut butter bon bon or peanut butter buckeyes as some might call them. He LOVED them! You know why? Peanut Butter and Chocolate is his FAVORITE combination. Later that night we went to an ugly Christmas sweater party that one of Matt's co-worker had and they bought him a little cake and we all sang happy birthday to him. It was a lot of fun!
Then Sunday was our birthday dinner. The menu was pot roast and a yummy oriental cabbage salad, and for dessert angel cake with a stick frosting. We each had our own cake with our ages on them. After we were sung too it was race to see who could blow our their candles the fastest. I think that I won, but he says differently. haha I did end up getting a little frosting in my hair.

Monday was my birthday. Yep I am 29, next year I will have a big party. The day started out good when I got a text from Matt telling me happy birthday and my desk at work was decorated. :) Gotta love the co-workers. Earlier in the month they had a potluck for me and my supervisor for our birthdays. When I got home I saw a white bag on the table didn't think much of it until I went to clear off the table and Matt was like the box is right in front me. What? He bought me a pretty Pandora charm bracelet with a cupcake charm for my bday. Super cute and thoughtful, b/c I was not expecting anything at all. :) (good job honey.) Then Matt and Scott took me out for dinner. We went to Village Inn because we wanted breakfast for dinner and it was really good!

That pretty sums up our birthday weekend celebration.

Baptisms

Today was a long day, but an exciting one! Today both my niece, Natalie and little brother Danny were baptized!! Can it be that it's been 8 years!?! I'm so proud of both of them for making the choice to be baptized and confirmed members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
You're problably thinking, how did I attend 2 baptisms at once. Well Natalie's was in the morning, 11 am, and Danny's was in the afternoon, 3pm. They were at the same time at one point but Natalie's was bumped up. Whew! That would have been a big dilemma as to which one we were going to attend, I almost didn't want to go to either. But it all worked out.

Scott's Birthday Party

Today we had Scott's birthday party at Peter Piper Pizza, same as last year just at a different location. We invited old friends and some new friends. Of course the grandparents were invited. It was great to hang out and chat with everyone. The kids had a Blast! Scott made out like a bandit with the gifts! Thanks to everyone who came out, and it made it a special day for Scott. Enjoy the picture slideshow.

Happy 6th Birthday Scott!

6 years ago today I become a mother. I can't believe that it's been 6 years since Scott came into our family!! I can remember when he was still a baby, it only seems like yesterday. But now he is a little boy finishing up his first year of school. He is a smart and funny kid and shows his stubborn side more than I would like him to. :) We are glad that he is ours forever and wish him the best in life.

Scott's 5th Birthday Party

Yesterday was Scott's birthday party at Peter Piper Pizza. It was probably the easiest party that I have done. All I did was call tell them the time and date and brought a few things. It was great! The kids had a lot of fun and the adults had fun talking and didn't have to really worry about the kids. Scott got a few presents from his friends and he loved the cake. Scott has been really into Ben 10 recently, it is a show on the cartoon network, and had asked for a Ben 10 cake. So my friend Rhonda said that she will make the cake and did an awesome job! Thanks Rhonda it was a yummy cake. Scott had a great time celebrating his 5th birthday. Thanks to all who came and shared in the celebration.

Birthday and Graduation Weekend

This was a vey busy weekend for us and it started on Thursday. Matt's birthday was on Thursday and it was also his graduation day from ASU. YEA!!! So here's what happened. Matt had told me a while back that he didn't want to walk so I didn't schedule the day off from work. Well he changed his mind and decided that he was going to walk, but I didn't find out until I got home from work. Well he went to the graduation ceremony didn't see anyone that he knew, but he had called his dad earlier to let him know that he was going to walk. But after seeing no one he knew he decided to leave, and did try calling his dad to let him know that he decided not to. Unfortunately his dad didn't answer his phone and sat through the ceremony. Sad I know. My husband can be a nightmare sometime. Matt felt bad and so later that evening we went over to his parents house so that he could apologize to dad.

Happy Birthday Chris!

Today is my brother Chris' birthday. I can't believe that it has come so quickly! He is 24 years old and it only seems like yesterday that he was only a teenager causing some sort of mischief with his buddies. There is a 3 year difference between us but we have a pretty good relationship. We like to joke around and whenever I have a techincal question about the computer I know that I can call him up and he is always eager to answer it. What can I say he's a computer nerd!

Growing up Meesa and I liked to tease him. Well actually we still like to do that. I remember one Christmas break Meesa and I had come home from school to visit. Chris was still asleep and we were up and we decided to wake him up. So we ran to his room and jump on his bed. Meesa was perched that the foot of the bed moving it and I jump up and was jumping next to him and the whole time were saying "It's time to get up!" He rolled over and grunted and told us to leave him alone so that he could sleep. Ah those were fun times!

He is a great brother and friend. He has a fun sense of humor and is lucky to have found a girl that can match him. So Kudos to you Carree, you are his other half. :) So Chris I hope that you have a fun birthday today and Carree make sure that it is a special one, b/c you have a birthday coming up to. ;)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY little Brother!

Happy Birthday Meesa!

Today is my sister Meesa's birthday! Today she and I will be the same age for the next 4 weeks. Yes, you heard right we will be 26 together. Meesa and I are 11 months apart so it's kinda like having a twin for about a month, b/c it confuses people. We have a very close relationship, she is practically my best friend. We have done a lot of things together over the years. When I started Junior High she was right there with me because she was way better at math than I was. I thought that it was pretty neat. She was also with me when I started my first year of High School for the same reason I just mentioned. We both got married the same year, she getting married first, which I didn't mind at all. Then being pregnant at the same time, which I think was great because we could compare how we dealt with our pregnancies. We shared a room for 17 years! Yep it's true! It was great because we could share clothes and shoes. We still share shoes, well at least when she is in town. I like to give her shoes that I buy but then don't end up wearing and she loves it! Since I work full time I have a fun shoe collection, that is why she loves it! We never fought over a boy, because we had different taste in guys. I can't recall a time when we have ever fought. We have disagreed on somethings growing up but never yelled or did anything intentionally mean to each other. I think that part of the reason why we have such a unique bond is because we've had rely on each other since our mom died. Together we pretty much raised Chris, our brother.

Meesa is a very fun, loving, free spirited person. She cares about the people she loves and admires and is an awesome mother to my cute niece Avry, and nephew Carter. I can call her anytime to just to talk and she is willing to listen, as long as she isn't busy, sometimes I call at random times of the day. She has come to rescue when I have really needed her, no questions asked. Of course I would do the same if and when she was in need of me. So with that being said I wanted to wish my fun younger sister HAPPY BIRTHDAY and hope that Trevor takes you out for a great time!!! I love you!

Happy Birthday Grandma Elsberry!

Today is my grandma's 70th birthday! Last night we had a family dinner party for her. I can't believe that she is that old. She doesn't even look it! She is a wonderful woman, that has been a strong influence in my life. She taught me how to play the piano and appreciate music. She gave me room and board for the time that I attended ASU, go Sundevils, and helped me pay for the tuition when my dad was unable to. Most people will say that she is a very classy lady, but I know differently, she is god fearing woman who loves the Lord and is a strong member of the church. She will do anything for her family no matter how much we mess up, she is always there. So here's to my Grandma, we love you! Below are pictures from last night.

Disneyland

This year for Scott's birthday we hit up Disneyland! It was so much Fun! Scott loved every ride he went on. He could do every ride except Indian Jones. He was not tall enough for it. By the end of the day he was so tired that he missed the Electrical Parade. Matt and I enjoyed ourselves as well!
