I'm sitting here thinking that I feel like that I have been neglecting my blog b/c I haven't really done a good post. We haven't had a lot of exciting things that have happened, but nonetheless it's time for a new post. This past week Matt did have a job interview and he felt that it went well. (YEA!) I hope he gets the job, b/c being the only one working is very stressful. I've been focusing on my new part time job and hope to make it a full time job and quit my job at Wells Fargo. It's time for change anyway. Scott has started a new semester at school and although we had a rocky start for the new year he has improved. He's a kid that needs structure.
As I listed in an earlier post one of my goals for this year was to be better at scripture study. Well to help me stay on top of it I've decided to start a blog in which I will be putting down my thoughts and inspirations.
That's all I have for now. I will post back when we know if Matt got the job.

2010 Goals
So this year I've set 3 main goals to accomplish.
1) Be more diligent in my personal scripture study
2) try to get back to my pre-scott size, not so much the weight b/c I know that I will gain muscle to replace the fat
3) focus on my new job at Primerica, which I do on my own time and it will get me to where i want to be, which is to be at home more while still making some income.
I just wanted to share these with you b/c I feel that if someone knows about them I will feel more committed and accountable for them. Wish me luck!

Christmas 2009
Finally I'm sitting down to post about our Christmas holiday, better late than never. I wanted to make sure that I had out pictures loaded onto the computer but I've been using my mother-in-law's camera and can't find her usb connection. I guess I will be taking the camera into walgreens and making a cd, so this post will be pictureless for now.
Our Christmas was quite and small. This is how it went.
Christmas Eve Eve (23rd)
Every year for as long as I can remember my grandma has always had a Christmas Eve party at her house with the entire family. I mean the entire family. This includes my immediate family and my grandma's extended family. Last year was the first year that my grandma moved it to the 23rd, this was done b/c now all of her nieces and nephews have grandchildren and want to spend the traditional Christmas Eve with them. So Christmas Eve Eve was born. Dinner is always mexican and followed by a White Elephant gift exchange. Now mind you my family is somewhat unorthodox when it comes to the white elephant. We see a lot of weird and interesting items. This year we had an Obama decorative plate to a pair of boxers that said naughty or nice with smurfs on it. It was a very fun evening and we got to see people that we don't always get around to seeing throughout the year.
Christmas Eve (24th)
For Christmas Eve we spent time with Matt's family at his brother's house. Christmas Eve with the Sovereign's is a favorite things dinner followed by a short reading from the Bible of the Christmas story and a short story read by Grammy.
Favorite Things dinner, you might be wondering what is that. Well let me tell you. It literal means bring your favorite thing to eat for dinner. It's a potluck of sorts with all kinds of things. We honestly don't know what will show up, but it's fun. This year we had pizza, ribs, chips & salsa, candy bars, salad . . . the list goes on, but I won't list them all fof the sake of those reading this.
After dinner my brother-in-law read the Christmas story from the bible and explained the meaning of Christmas. He always does such a good job to where the kids understand it. Then after he was done, the kids got to open their christmas pj's. No Christmas Eve is complete with out the pj's. Thanks aunt Shelly for buying them. Once the kids had settled down it was Grammy's turn to read her story. She always gets the new Christmas book from Deseret Book and reads. This year it was I heard the Bells on Christmas Day. This book told the story of how the hymn I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day came to be. It was a wonderful story.
Christmas Day (25th)
This year we spent Christmas morning and day with Matt's family, normally after opening presents with Matt's family we would head over to my Dad's. But this year my Dad decided to take my younger brother's on a cruise for Christmas, don't think he is unfair he did that with us older kids when we were in high school. We woke up and of course Scott was really excited to open his gifts. So at about 8:30 -9 we sat down to open our presents. After presents we had breakfast, which was cinnamon rolls and milk. yummy.
Later at around 5 we had dinner. This year we had standing rib, rolls, broccoli wild rice casserole and a bunch of other yummy stuff. With our bellies full of good food we lounged about. Some us played games and then eventually we all ended up in the family room wathching Wolverine.
We had a fun time. Sorry this was so long, I hope you enjoyed reading it. I will be posting the pictures soon.
