Accepted

Today I got the call that I have been anticipating. Here is a short background to this call.

I enrolled Scott in a new charter school that opened up last fall in our neighborhood for kindergarten. We did an orientation last summer and were very impressed and felt that this is where we need to send Scott. There are only 50 seats available per grade. When I submitted the form the nice lady that took it said that there were only 10 seats left. Crazy! I was little worried that he wouldn't get in and that we would have to find another school for him. Well that won't be necessary b/c he has been accepted into Paragon Science Academy!

It is not a typical charter school b/c the only fee that we will need to pay is for his books. The money will be refunded at the end of the year, provided that the books are returned in good condition. They also offer after school care, which has a small fee, if we ever need it. It is a small school that encourages creative and logically thinking. The teachers push the students to have them reach their full potential. It's main focus is Science, Math and Technology, and of course they still have the liberal arts ie music, art and literature. Scott will be exposed to technology early on, not that he isn't now. He will also have the opportunity to learn a new language by the time he reaches the 4th grade. How awesome is that!!???!! They also use phonics to teach the kids how to read.

Needless to say we are excited and also in shock that our little boy will be in kindergarten in the fall.
